Recycling Bin to end October 24, 2010

The Pennfield Township Board has agreed to continue the monthly recycling bin until October 24, 2010. Citing reductions in state revenue sharing and property taxes, Township Supervisor Rob Behnke indicated that the monthly cost for the bin could no longer be bore by the Township General Fund, "The recycling bin has been a successful program based upon the number of residents who use each and every month but funding restrictions are now requiring the Township to rely on private donations to continue the program. We need to raise at least $950.00 by November 1st for the program to continue through March of 2011". As of October 5th, the Township has received $260.00.

If you would like to make a donation ($10.00, $15.00, $20.00 or $25.00), please do so at the Pennfield Township Office. Township Treasurer Barb Phillips has established a donation fund for these monies.
