Township Board awards demolition contracts for 7 houses

The Pennfield Township Board has approved, through the adoption of Pennfield Charter Township Resolution 10-35, the demolition of the following vacant properties:

935 Capital Avenue, NE (owned by JOHN KENEFICK III)

88 Sharon Avenue (owned by GREGORY HARTFORD)

83 Sharon Avenue (owned by FIRST NATIONAL ACCEPTANCE)

77 Sharon Avenue (owned by FRED NEBLO)

394 Concord Avenue (owned by LaCINDA MAC PHERSON)

185 Pickford Street (owned by FRED ELMENDORF)

45 Oxford Street (owned by HARLAND and SUSAN RENSHAW)

Total cost for the demolition is for the (7) properties is $52,710.13. The Township Board will bill each property owner of record for the demolition cost. If the property owner fails to pay the bill, then the amount due will be placed on taxes along with a lien on the property, lein on any other property they own in the State of Michigan as well as a lien on items like vehicles, boats, trailers, etc.

"It is our intent to recoup this cost from those property owners who failed to comply with the Dangerous Building Ordinance" stated Pennfield Township Supervisor Rob Behnke.
