PHS Junior awarded first "Pennfield Township Outstanding Citizens Award"
Oct 23rd, 08
Pennfield High School Junior is first
recipient of the
“Pennfield Township Outstanding
Citizens Award”
On September 9, 2008, the Pennfield Township Board presented its first “Outstanding Citizens Award” to Pennfield High School Junior Dupree Nunnally.
During the early hours of August 29th, a fire broke out at one of
the Crowne Chase Apartment buildings causing its occupants to flee. One occupant, located on the second floor, attempted to escape by jumping from the balcony area of her apartment with her three (3) small children. Nunnally, a junior at Pennfield High School, immediately came to her aid by catching all three (3) children as well as the occupant herself from the second floor balcony. Calling Dupree “a hero among us”, Township Supervisor Rob Behnke, on behalf of the entire Township Board, presented Dupree the first “Pennfield Township Outstanding Citizens Award”. Supervisor Behnke was joined by the entire Pennfield High School Varsity Football and its coaching staff. Congratulations to Dupree Nunnally!
NOTE: All of Pennfield Township wishes Dupree and his family well as he recovers from a serious ankle/leg injury he sustained during a varsity football game.
