CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF PENNFIELD
SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
JANUARY 5, 2010
6:00 P.M.
Supervisor Behnke called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. at the Pennfield Middle School Cafeteria. Present were Supervisor Behnke, Treasurer Phillips and Trustees Bartlett and Bordine-Houseman. Clerk Case and Trustees Beard and Ensign were excused. Also present were 13 citizens. Supervisor Behnke led the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC HEARING
FOR DANGEROUS BUILDINGS
935 Capital Avenue NE
There was no public comment.
394 Concord Avenue
The property owner stated she is not able to repair or demolish at this time.
11864 Gorsline Road
The property owner stated he is working on cleaning up and repairing the property but needs more time.
706 Joy Road
A relative representing the property owner stated that they are working on repairing the property but need more time.
45 Oxford Street
There was no public comment.
185 Pickford Street
A representative of the property owner stated he would like more time. He would like to demolish and rebuild.
77 Sharon Avenue
The property owner stated that he needs more time.
88 Sharon Avenue
There was no public comment.
287 Viking Drive
There was no public comment.
83 Sharon Avenue
There was no public comment.
11763 Burrows Road
The property owner stated that she is not able to comply with the order and would like assistance.
A citizen asked what still needed to be done.
22471 Clear Lake Road
There was no public comment.
Supervisor Behnke closed the public hearing at 6:20 P.M.
NEW BUSINESS
It was moved by Treasurer Phillips and supported by Trustee Bartlett to approve the order as issued by the Pennfield Township Dangerous Buildings Hearing Officer for 935 Capital Avenue NE. The owners or parties in interest shall comply with the order within 60 days after the date of this hearing. Motion carried.
It was moved by Treasurer Phillips and supported by Trustee Bartlett to approve the order as issued by the Pennfield Township Dangerous Buildings Hearing Officer for 394 Concord Avenue. The owners or parties in interest shall comply with the order within 60 days after the date of this hearing. Motion carried.
It was moved by Treasurer Phillips and supported by Trustee Bartlett to modify the order for 11864 Gorsline Road from 30 days to 6 months. Motion carried.
It was moved by Treasurer Phillips and supported by Trustee Bartlett to modify the order for 706 Joy Road from 30 days to 6 months. Motion carried.
It was moved by Treasurer Phillips and supported by Trustee Bartlett to approve the order as issued by the Pennfield Township Dangerous Buildings Hearing Officer for 45 Oxford Street. The owners or parties in interest shall comply with the order within 60 days after the date of this hearing. Motion carried.
It was moved by Treasurer Phillips and supported by Trustee Bartlett to modify the order for 185 Pickford Street from 30 days to 6 months. Motion carried.
It was moved by Treasurer Phillips and supported by Trustee Bartlett to modify the order for 77 Sharon Avenue from 30 days to 6 months. Motion carried.
It was moved by Treasurer Phillips and supported by Trustee Bartlett to approve the order as issued by the Pennfield Township Dangerous Buildings Hearing Officer for 88 Sharon Avenue. The owners or parties in interest shall comply with the order within 60 days after the date of this hearing. Motion carried.
It was moved by Treasurer Phillips and supported by Trustee Bartlett to approve the order as issued by the Pennfield Township Dangerous Buildings Hearing Officer for 287 Viking Drive. The owners or parties in interest shall comply with the order within 60 days after the date of this hearing. Motion carried.
It was moved by Treasurer Phillips and supported by Trustee Bartlett to approve the order as issued by the Pennfield Township Dangerous Buildings Hearing Officer for 83 Sharon Avenue. The owners or parties in interest shall comply with the order within 60 days after the date of this hearing. Motion carried.
It was moved by Treasurer Phillips and supported by Trustee Bartlett to modify the order for 11763 Burrows Road from 30 days to 6 months. Motion carried.
It was moved by Treasurer Phillips and supported by Trustee Bartlett to approve the order as issued by the Pennfield Township Dangerous Buildings Hearing Officer for 22471 Clear Lake Road. The owners or parties in interest shall comply with the order within 60 days after the date of this hearing. Motion carried.
CITIZENS COMMENTS
Three citizens spoke regarding further meetings and possibly getting an extention.
TOWNSHIP BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS
Trustee Bartlett works with blight on a daily basis. We need to see major improvement to grant extentions. Trustee Bordine-Houseman congratulated the people willing to work on these properties.
