Bob Mehaffey

Assistant Fire Chief Robert Mehaffey started with Pennfield Fire Department in October of 1975. Bob was promoted to Lieutenant in 1981, Captain in 1986, and to Assistant Fire Chief in 2003. He has 25 years experience as a state instructor, and was the training officer for Pennfield Fire Department for 22 years. Bob has an Associates Degree in Fire Science from KCC, and is State Certified Fire Officer III.

Certifications: Firefighter I & II, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, Medical First Responder, Drivers Certification (FM 123), Fire Officer I, II, & III, Certified Firefighter I & II Instructor, Certified Haz-Mat Awareness & Operations Instructor; Certified Drivers Training Instructor, IS-00100, 00200, 00700, and 00800.

Bob has continued education in Natural Gas Emergencies, School Bus Rescue, Vehicle Extrication, Leadership I, II, & III, Ice Rescue, Agricultural Accident Rescue, Incident Command, Arson Detection, Burn Prevention and Care, Firefighter Safety and Survival, Ventilation, Tanker Operations, Wildfire, Search and Rescue, Water Rescue, Flammable Liquid Fires, and Radiological Monitoring.
